This is Sharmala, she is in the 7th grade.
We met Sharmala in the capital of Haiti (Port-au-Prince) living in a one bedroom home without running water or electricity. Her mother is the only one with a job in the household of 5. Sharmala's mom tries her best to make ends meet but she makes just $45 a month, sometimes less.
Kids like Sharmala need support now, during their critical developmental years. It’s hard to catch up when they spend their first years of life lacking basic needs, social opportunities and emotional support. What kind of future does Sharmala have ahead of her?
Fortunately, there is hope for kids like Sharmala. That hope is you. You can help provide for a child like her with an education and life skills right when she needs them. So she can grow up strong and empowered.
$25 a month or a one time gift of $250 will assist her to stay in school.
