This is Shmaïley, she is in the 11th grade.
We met Shmaïley in the capital of Haiti (Port-au-Prince) living in a one bedroom home without running water or electricity. Her mother is the only one with a job in the household of 5. Shmaïley's mom tries her best to make ends meet but she makes just $45 a month, sometimes less.
Kids like Shmaïley need support now, during their critical developmental years. It’s hard to catch up when they spend their first years of life lacking basic needs, social opportunities and emotional support. What kind of future does Shmaïley have ahead of her?
Fortunately, there is hope for kids like Shmaïley. That hope is you. You can help provide for a child like her with an education and life skills right when she needs them. So she can grow up strong and empowered.
$30 a month or a one time gift of $300 will assist her to stay in school.
